State Star Greenhand recognizes the outstanding freshman FFA member who is enrolled in agriculture education for the first time, and encourages them to strive for greater achievements in the FFA organization.
- The chapter’s most active first year member who has strong plans for a supervised agriculture experience (SAE) program and has demonstrated leadership is selected to win the Star Greenhand each year.
